Fashion realized long ago that the continent continues to seduce the world fashion industry inspired by collections, exhibitions and international events

In the main runways of world fashion paraded collections inspired by Africa contemporaneous, and not only.

Starting with the exotic prints to Stella Jeans who has combined a combination between Africa, Italy and Haiti, with pieces of African inspiration toggled shirts in candy and oversize shirts, a mix though to vibrant colors associated with fabrics and silk prints,silk velvet and brocade.

HARD OLAWU is born in Lagos to a Nigerian mother and a Jamaican father.

He lives between Lagos and London. Developed an enthusiasm for fashion and was always inspired by the mixture of fabrics, by its texture and of garments used by the women of his country around. He thought to follow in his father’s footsteps to become a lawyer, but hasn’t spent much time before quitting his passion for fashion.

The streets of London provided him and ensure him an enabling environment to develop his passion for fashion for being an environment that embraces the culture, art and music.

He launched his first collection in October 2004 for the spring/summer collection.

 In 2005, a year after having released is first collection, was named designer of the year at fashion week in London.

He became a”must have”, after being discovered by the Vogue editor Sally Singer and Julie Gihart of Barneys.

His collections worshipped and are dressed by important and famous people such as Michelle Obama, Uma Thurman, Linda Evangelista and many others.
